Karolinska Development uses a unique commercialization model to capture the hidden value in academic research, and to exploit its unrealized potential for the betterment of human health through commercial development.

Today our portfolio consists of around 40 start-up companies and after only four years, four companies, (Dilafor, Calabar, Oncopeptides, Umecrine Mood) have entered phase II studies, and three companies, (Avaris, Independent Pharmaceuticals, Spectracure) have initiated phase I studies. One company, Cogmed, has launched an IT-based product in the market to treat ADHD. A second company, (Athera Biotechnologies), has also launched a product, CVDefine™, a test used to aid risk assesment for the development of cardiovascular disease.

Invitation to Invest The Board of Directors of Karolinska Development AB has decided (conditional on approval by Extraordinary General Meeting) to issue new shares up to a value of 147 million Swedish Kronor at a price of 60 Swedish Kronor per share.
