Women's Health
|
Within women's health a number of medical needs exist which are currently poorly addressed. In conjunction with childbirth, one fifth of women experience protracted labor, increasing the risk to mother and child.1 To prevent this Dilafor is developing a treatment for protracted labour. A severe form of PMS known as PMDD (premenstrual dysphoric disorder) afflicts about 5% of all fertile women in conjunction with menstruation2. The company Umecrine Mood has a new substance in clinical Phase I studies aimed at addressing this. Both of these substances have the potential to be first-in-class. Another important field is pain relief in obstetrics and gynecology; strategies in this field are being worked on by the company Pharmanest.
